Here is an overview of the issue:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
            Key: CAY-282
Summary: Data View modeller does not support its own native MapFormat
           Type: Improvement

         Status: Assigned
       Priority: Trivial

        Project: Cayenne
     Components:
                 CayenneModeler GUI
       Versions:
                 1.1

       Assignee: Andrus Adamchik
       Reporter: Jan "Kuba" Moszczynski

        Created: Sun, 27 Feb 2005 3:36 PM
        Updated: Sun, 27 Feb 2005 3:36 PM
Environment: Windows XP, MySQL, Java 1.5 - these information is irrelevant to the case.

    Description:
The DVModeller GUI Tool does not support entering all the data which is used by MapFormat class to format ObjViewField contents. There is no way to add to the XML definition file the following XML tags, used by MapFormat:
<value-class> - this one is really important, you cannot use MapFormat without this one,
    <value-delimiter>,
    <null-value>,
    <entry-delimiter>.
Since FormatFactory class expects these to appear, the MapFormat cannot be used with current verion of DVModeller GUI.
There are easy ways to work around the problem, so this is not really a bug, but it would be nice to actually have working MapFormat within DataView set of components.

    Yours sincerely

    Jan Moszczynski
