Description:
The Cayenne modeler GUI has various necessarily nasty, complex and atomic tasks that oftentimes need debugging by the developer:
- Reengineer database
- Generate databse schema
Already the Cayenne modeler offers to generate SQL code and then(presumably), the developer can execute the SQL code himself.
What I would like to see is that the Cayenne modeler offers a "Generate Java Code" option. The actual button could have "Debug" in its caption to point the developer towards a path for debugging his problem.
The developer would compile this Java code and run it in his favourite debugger environment, thus being able to single step through complex operations.
