    Did you try using the fully qualified classname (with it's package) in the
    extends clause of your component's declaration?

    E.g.

    public class DoSomethingComponent extends com.company.CompanyComponent
                                              ^^^^^^^^^^^^

    This helps a lot when I use it :-)
