Anecdotal evidence from another list (MaxMSP) that also relies on
    Java seems to indicate:

    1. Not everyone is affected.
    2. Reinstalling Java 1.4.2 update 2 seesm to help in most cases.

The developers of MaxMSP are also recommending people don't install
    10.3.9 until the dust settles.
