    Well, even i had came across the same problem, with
    > wolips-all-latest.tar.gz.

    I don't know the exact reason, but one thing i observed was that
    number of file types in Window->Preferences->file Associations were
    very few.

    Probably some editors are being disabled.

    All i did was, a fresh re-installation with only a few selected plugins.

    This time, I didn't select EMF and TPTP related plugins.

    I haven't faced any problems after that.
