    I had a similar problem with an exception occurring an launch time. I
    finally found out that the cause where old versions of JAR files (Ant
    and Log4J) hanging around in my /Library/Java/Extensions directory.
    They where hiding the ones that came with Eclipse. May be you have a
    look there.
