    Yeah I've seen this also .. The blank error description is just
    totally my bad -- I set the error message to be the output of
    eogenerator, but that's multiline, so it just ends up being blank.

    I would try running the eogen script manually (might take a little
    modification, but the "datafile" for eogen is basically just a one
    line shell script). That might give you more verbose output until I
    can figure out what is getting swallowed in the eogen plugin.
