Make sure the filter for EOGenerator _Entity files is turned off in the WO
Package explorer. Lots of people have had problems with that.
I think the "auto eogenerate on build" is a good one to turn on by default.
Personally, the options I always turn on right away are:
Java->Editor->Content Assist->Guess filled method arguments
Java->Editor->Typing->Automatically insert braces and semicolons
Java->Debug->Suspend Execution on uncaught exceptions (turn off)
