the eclipse page lists the q4e aka IAM project proposal as stale:
http://www.eclipse.org/proposals/
and there's a new proposal, it was submitted just 29 hours ago and
coincidentally the m2eclipse lead developer, Eugene Kuleshov, is also
a committer on Subclipse (which I did not like, to buggy and no way
to reconnect disconnected projects to a SVN-repo)
http://www.eclipse.org/proposals/m2e/
if this has any better fate than q4e? Who knows …
I currently use m2eclipse ( http://m2eclipse.codehaus.org/update/ ),
it works o.k. and have no comparison to what q4e offers. Someone used
both and has a comparison?

Lars
