    I've been finding recently too (though I'd not done so for a while, so
    don't know when it broke) that the api editor mucks up the file. e.g.,
    turning on/off required ends up leaving a validation rule with no
    condition - so it's always an error even if the binding is satisfied.

    So I've had to fix it by hand. Bug report to come...
