    As far as I know, that is not correct usage of the <br/> tag.

    <br> is HTML
    <br/> is XHTML

    There are no attributes or contents to a br tag.

    If you want a line break before and after, you should use:

    <br/>
    Blah blah blah blah
    <br/>
