You may hve noticed that eclipse spins a _lot_ more with 3.5 and the
version of WOLips that goes with it than it used to. This is not
surprising. There are a lot of differences between the older Carbon-
based stuff and the Cocoa-based UI. Going to Cocoa was a good move and
the UI responsiveness will get better.
FYI, there are (at least) two bugs tracking this:
http://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=290082
http://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=285175
I am going to start taking samples and see if anything can be done.
Well, one thing did make this a lot better for me. I upgraded my
laptop's memory from 2 GB to 4 GB. So, does one need 4 GB of memory to
use WOLips without pain? I hope not.
So, if anybody else wants to help with this bug, now you know where to
go. The eclipse project people are surprisingly easy to deal with and
tolerant of newbie-situations, so don't be shy.
cheers - ray
